Solar Power at the Kennedy Space Center

Monday, the NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida and the Sharp Solar Energy Solutions Group said work crews have begun installing a 79-kilowatt Sharp solar array at the center's new Propellants North Facility.

Most of the project's 336 solar panels will sit atop the building in a curved aluminum roofing system that uses next-generation, standing seam aluminum clamps, which eliminates the need for other structural connections and penetrating the roof.
